Committed to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), we seek the integrated development of the regions where we are present. Our Social Responsibility Policy aims at four objectives:
Our activities, programs and investments in the community are framed within the social management plan, which is based on the principle of shared value and the connection between economic and social progress in the regions where we operate. With this approach we seek to evaluate the decisions made and opportunities from the logic of creating value, maximizing profits and minimizing the impacts of our operations.
Our mission is to contribute to the feasibility of the operation by preventing, mitigating and compensating the social and environmental impacts and risks in a way that is aligned with the different areas of the Organization and the Government, for the purpose of promoting the sustainable development of the communities located in the area of influence of our operations.
EDUCATION
Estrategy: : Improve the quality of public institutions (primary and secondary education) of children and youth in critical communities and provide opportunities for higher education, technical education and work training to adults.
Objective: Form educational capacities in the communities for territorial development and maintain sustainability beyond the closure of the mining operation.
DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL CAPITAL
Estrategy: Strengthen the entities and citizen groups to build capacities, promoting values so that the resources are used appropriately for sustainable development.
Objective: Promote the best practices of public management and the informed participation of citizens for the improvement of the quality of the communities of the area of direct influence.
INCOME GENERATION
Estrategy: Strengthen the generation of income through the creation and enabling of business units with a focus on self-sustainability and competitiveness, and the improvement of employability options.
Objective: Strengthen communities for their sustainable development, beyond the closure of the mining operation.

Puerto Nuevo has a community attention office, located in Cienaga at Calle 12 No. 10 – 06 Barrio Jardín. Opening hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
